Siemens and Invertek formalise compressor controls partnership
UK – Siemens and UK-based Invertek Drives have formalised a partnership to provide integrated compressor control solutions for heat pump and HVACR manufacturers.
Announced at Chillventa 2026, the agreement builds on nearly five years of collaboration and combines Siemens’ Climatix application controllers with Invertek’s Optidrive Coolvert variable frequency drives.
Integrated compressor control
The solution is designed for brushless DC (BLDC) rotary and scroll compressors, combining compressor envelope management with variable speed control.
The technologies communicate via Modbus, helping original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) simplify integration and reduce development work.
Optidrive Coolvert is also certified for use in equipment environments using A2L and A3 refrigerants, supporting manufacturers adapting their systems to European F-Gas requirements.
Mike Carman, Executive Business Development Manager for HVACR at Invertek Drives, said: “Together, we can give OEMs a proven, integrated solution that reduces development work and supports faster deployment.”
Initial European focus
The partnership will initially target European manufacturers across heat pumps, chillers, rooftop units, refrigeration and process cooling.
Rather than introducing new technology, the agreement formalises an established working relationship and provides a framework for further development and commercial cooperation.
