IOR Northern Region Golf Day raises £848 for charity
UK – The Institute of Refrigeration Northern Region Golf Day raised £848 for charities 4Louis and Care after Combat, with 80 people from across the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sectors attending the event.
The golf day took place on 12 June 2026 at Close House Golf Club, Newcastle upon Tyne, and was played in a Texas Scramble format. Participants were welcomed with tea, coffee and bacon butties on arrival before taking part in 18 holes of golf. The day concluded with a BBQ buffet meal, raffle and prize presentations.
Beijer Ref Team 1 won the competition with a score of 53.2. The winning team was made up of Liam Nevins of Nevair, Steve Lamb of ACR Service, John Douglas of Project Refrigeration and Alan Unsworth of Hadrian Air Conditioning.
Funds raised from the day will support 4Louis, a UK charity supporting families affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child, and Care after Combat, a veterans’ charity supporting former British Armed Forces personnel in the justice system and their families.
Next year’s IOR Northern Region Golf Day will be held on 14 May 2027 at Close House. To request a booking form, contact [email protected]
