Engineers who complete the training package will become Daikin Altherma Heat Pump Technicians.

Altherma training gains City & Guilds Assured status

UK – Daikin has partnered with City & Guilds to achieve ‘Assured’ status for its Altherma heat pump training package.

Upon successful completion of the training, engineers will be able to call themselves a Daikin Altherma Heat Pump Technician – designed to set them apart in an increasingly competitive marketplace and give customers confidence.

City & Guilds Assured is a quality standard built on almost 150 years of experience in skills development. The rigorous accreditation process evaluates eight areas of internally developed training, assessing how organisations plan, design, maintain and evaluate their learning programmes against world-class quality standards. For Daikin, this meant undergoing a comprehensive series of reviews, with the manufacturer receiving consistently positive feedback throughout the process.

Sam Egerton, Head of Recognitions for City & Guilds, said: “Achieving City & Guilds Assured status shows that an organisation meets exacting quality standards in terms of course structure, delivery and quality management. Throughout the accreditation process, Daikin consistently demonstrated a clear commitment to excellence in training, with a comprehensive and well-structured offering that aligns strongly with the standards we expect from Assured programmes. We were particularly impressed by the focus on practical skills development and supporting installers with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the growing heat pump sector.”

Daniel Jackson, UK Training Manager at Daikin, added: “We are committed to providing the highest quality training possible for our installer customers, ensuring they have the skills, confidence and technical expertise to deliver outstanding heat pump installations. It is recognition of the quality of our training and a valuable tool our customers can use to differentiate their own businesses.”

The training package consists of three courses totalling four days of learning. Courses can be completed consecutively or spread over time; there is no set timeframe to complete them, and once achieved, the qualification does not expire. The three courses are:

  • Altherma Monobloc Installation
  • Altherma Commissioning and Advanced Installation
  • Fault Finding and Diagnostics

Upon completion, engineers receive a certificate bearing the City & Guilds Assured logo and can use the digital credential in their own marketing materials.
