Sigenergy launches SigenFlux R290 heat pump in UK
UK – Sigenergy has launched its SigenFlux R290 air-source heat pump in the UK at Solar & Storage Live UK 2026, extending the company’s solar, battery storage and energy-management ecosystem into residential heat pumps.
The residential range will include single-phase models from 5kW to 16kW and three-phase versions from 8kW to 16kW. MCS certification for the UK market is in progress.
Integrated energy management
SigenFlux is designed to operate as a controllable load within a wider home energy system.
Sigenergy’s SigenAgent platform can use dynamic electricity tariff forecasts alongside predicted space-heating and domestic hot water demand to determine when the heat pump should operate.
The system can shift heating or thermal storage towards lower-cost periods and reduce consumption when electricity prices rise. Sigenergy says it can also learn household usage patterns to anticipate future demand.
SigenFlux can integrate with third-party energy management systems as well as Sigenergy’s own platform.
PV and battery coordination
Within a Sigenergy system, surplus PV generation can be directed to the heat pump or auxiliary electric heating to increase self-consumption.
Once heating or hot-water demand has been met, remaining surplus generation can be stored in the battery or exported to the grid.
Sigenergy also says its battery systems can provide backup power to SigenFlux during a grid outage, depending on system configuration.
The launch extends the company’s existing activities in solar PV, battery storage, inverters and EV charging into residential thermal energy.
R290 heat pump technology
SigenFlux uses R290 refrigerant with an inverter-driven system incorporating Enhanced Vapour Injection technology.
The range is intended for both retrofit and new-build applications and incorporates an adaptive defrost strategy that monitors operating conditions to determine when defrosting is required.
Installation and controls
The range is supported by control panel, control box, hydro box and multifunction hydro tank options.
Sigenergy says the integrated hydronic design is intended to reduce the use of external components and on-site pipework, with wireless communication and remote diagnostics supporting commissioning and servicing.
SigenFlux will be supplied through professional distribution partners, including Sigenergy’s existing distribution network.
