Resideo highlights 0% VAT on controls upgrades
UK – Smart homes specialist Resideo is reminding heating installers that controls upgrades qualify for 0% VAT until March 2027.
With the cost of living still a challenge for many people, Resideo believes a significant sales opportunity exists due thermostats, timers and thermostatic radiator valves being available VAT-free across the UK.

“At the moment, heating controls qualify for 0% VAT when professionally supplied and installed together, with no complex eligibility criteria to navigate*. The relief applies UK-wide, including Northern Ireland, and is presently scheduled to run until March 2027, giving installers a genuine window to act.
“This means installers can showcase a straightforward, lower-cost upgrade without impacting their profitability. *The zero rate applies to qualifying installation services and to qualifying controls supplied by the person installing them in residential accommodation or qualifying charitable buildings. VAT treatment depends on the circumstances, particularly where the controls form part of wider heating-system work.
