CIBSE brand overhaul extends to certification arm
UK – CIBSE Certification has introduced a refreshed brand identity, with CIBSE stating the update aligns with its wider organisational rebrand and strengthens consistency across its activities.
The move follows CIBSE’s recently announced brand overhaul, which the institution said marks a new phase in its global positioning and reflects its evolving role in supporting building performance, sustainability and professional standards. The certification arm’s update forms part of that wider repositioning, while maintaining a distinct identity within the market.
A revised visual approach for CIBSE Certification introduces green as its primary colour palette, alongside more focused messaging aimed at improving clarity and accessibility. CIBSE said the changes are intended to reinforce recognition of its certification services while supporting a clearer articulation of its role across the built environment.
CIBSE Certification, a wholly owned subsidiary, provides accredited certification, registration and verification services spanning energy assessment, building performance evaluation, management systems and personnel schemes. While operationally independent to ensure impartiality, it plays a central role in supporting compliance and competence as regulatory and performance requirements increase.
The update reflects rising demand for transparency, assurance and verified performance data. The revised identity is intended to better represent the organisation’s role in supporting higher standards across the industry.

Wider repositioning
CIBSE has positioned its overarching brand refresh as part of a broader effort to enhance its international profile and ensure its identity reflects the scale and scope of its work. The alignment with CIBSE Certification is intended to present a more cohesive offer, while retaining clear differentiation between professional body and certification services.
For the sector, the changes come at a time of increasing focus on demonstrable building performance, competency frameworks and third-party verification. Certification schemes are expected to play a growing role in evidencing compliance as policy and market expectations continue to tighten.
