Bosch first-half sales rise as acquired HVAC business adds €2bn
Germany – Bosch Group increased sales by 3.6% to €46.4 billion in the first half of 2026, with the HVAC business acquired from Johnson Controls and Hitachi contributing around €2 billion to revenue growth.
The German technology group reported sales of €46.4 billion for the first six months, compared with €44.8 billion in the same period of 2025. The figures provide an early indication of the increased scale of Bosch’s HVAC activities following completion of the major acquisition.
HVAC acquisition supports growth
Bosch completed its acquisition of Johnson Controls’ residential and light commercial HVAC business, together with the Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning joint venture, in 2025.
The transaction significantly expanded Bosch’s presence in the global heating, ventilation and air conditioning market, adding operations and product portfolios across a number of international markets.
In the first half of 2026, the acquired HVAC activities accounted for approximately €2 billion of Bosch’s sales growth.
Despite higher revenue, EBIT from operations decreased to €2.2 billion from €2.3 billion a year earlier. The corresponding operating EBIT margin fell from 5.1% to 4.6%. The company said the result was primarily affected by special effects within its Mobility business.
Bosch is maintaining its sales and earnings forecast for 2026 despite what it described as continuing economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
Dr Markus Forschner, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chairman of the board of management, said the company would continue with structural adjustments and cost reductions while maintaining investment in emerging technologies and pursuing growth opportunities.
