RWC issues new specification guidance for multi-occupancy residential projects

UK – Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC), the manufacturer behind Reliance Valves, JG Speedfit and JG Underfloor, has launched a new eGuide designed to help specifiers tackle the growing complexity of plumbing and heating design in multi-occupancy residential buildings.

The free guide explores specification across three key stages of a building’s plumbing and heating system: the plant room, risers and individual dwellings. It covers areas including pressure management, leak protection, water safety, efficiency and long-term system reliability.

The launch comes as demand for high-density residential developments, including build-to-rent schemes and student accommodation, continues to grow across UK towns and cities.

Supporting specification across complex residential projects

According to RWC, the guide is intended to simplify specification for large-scale residential developments by breaking systems down into manageable stages, from central plant infrastructure through to point-of-use performance inside individual apartments.

Designing plumbing and heating systems for large-scale multi-occupancy buildings is a complex undertaking for specifiers.

David Corner, product support manager at RWC

The publication examines the role of pressure reducing valves, expansion vessels, thermostatic mixing valves, leak detection systems and water control valves in supporting safe and efficient operation across multi-occupancy buildings.

Focus on efficiency, resilience and compliance

The guide also highlights the growing importance of leak detection, water conservation and low-temperature heating systems as specifiers work to improve building efficiency and meet changing regulatory requirements.

RWC says failures in multi-occupancy environments can have a wider impact than in traditional housing, making pressure control, leak management and system resilience increasingly important considerations during specification.

Reliance Worldwide Corporation develops water delivery and control products for residential and commercial plumbing and heating applications, with brands including Reliance Valves, JG Speedfit and JG Underfloor.

The eGuide is available as a free download from the Reliance Valves website.
