Grant UK backing grassroots football
UK – Swindon-based heat pump manufacturer Grant UK has announced a two-year sponsorship agreement with local grassroots football club Robins FC, supporting its Under-8s boys’ teams competing in the North Wilts Football League.
The sponsorship will support more than 20 young players across the club’s Under-8s age group, helping Robins FC continue providing football opportunities for children in the Swindon area.
Supporting grassroots football
Robins FC provides football training and development opportunities for boys and girls from Under-6s through to Under-15s. The volunteer-run club organises weekly training sessions, league and cup fixtures, and tournaments.
Grant UK’s involvement follows an approach from the club, which was seeking sponsorship from a local business. The connection was made through Rob Hall, a member of Grant UK’s warehouse team whose son plays for Robins FC.
“Robins FC is a popular grassroots club here in Swindon,” said Hall. “The Under-8s were seeking a new sponsor earlier this year and the Club specifically wanted to work with a local company, so Grant UK was a great partner given our headquarters are so close to their training fields.”
Club welcomes local support
Robins FC chairman Paul Wainwright, who has been involved with the club since its formation in 1991, welcomed the sponsorship and highlighted the importance of local businesses supporting volunteer-led sport.
“It’s fantastic that Grant UK have recognised us as a club and the grassroots movement as a whole,” he said. “As a Club we rely on volunteers and the support of our communities.”
The sponsorship forms part of Grant UK’s support for its local community, with the company headquartered close to the club’s training facilities.
