Clivet unveils next-gen Versatemp line-up
Italy – Clivet has launched Versatemp, its latest generation of standalone units for water loop heat pump (WLHP) systems in multi-zone commercial buildings, with capacities from 1kW to 28kW and refrigerants with GWPs below 150.
The range is designed to provide heating and cooling simultaneously by transferring heat between different areas of a building through a shared water loop, reducing the need for central plant to operate.
Heat recovery between building zones
Water loop systems are suited to buildings where heating and cooling demands occur at the same time, including offices, hotels and shopping centres.
“The main advantage of WLHP systems is that they allow different areas of the same building to be heated and cooled simultaneously,” said Damiano Rossi, product manager at Clivet.
Heat rejected by units operating in cooling mode can be transferred through the loop and reused by units operating in heating mode.
Floor and ducted units
The new range is available in two formats. Versatemp Floor is a vertical unit covering capacities from 1kW to 3kW, with nominal airflow from 320 to 650m³/h. Versatemp Duct is a ceiling-mounted model for horizontal installation, with capacities from 2kW to 28kW and airflow from 320 to 7,000m³/h.

Clivet says the units are compatible with existing hydraulic, air distribution and electrical connections, making them suitable for both new-build and replacement projects.
Designed for phased refurbishment
Because each unit serves its own zone independently, the system can be installed or upgraded floor by floor or area by area without shutting down the entire building.
Clivet says this makes Versatemp particularly suited to phased refurbishment projects, where investment can be spread over time and maintenance on one unit does not affect the rest of the system.
Target applications include offices, hotels, shopping centres and other large multi-zone buildings with differing thermal demands.
Controls and lower-GWP refrigerants
Individual units can be controlled through an integrated Wi-Fi interface, with remote access available through the Clivet Eye app.
For centralised management, Control4 NRG allows the wider system to be monitored and controlled from a single interface or remotely.
Versatemp Floor uses R290 refrigerant, while Versatemp Duct uses R454C. Both have a GWP below 150, positioning the range to meet the next stage of EU F-Gas restrictions applying to relevant equipment from January 2027.
