Daikin opens €300m heat pump factory in Poland

Poland – Daikin Europe has opened a new €300 million heat pump factory in Poland, adding residential heat pump production capacity to its European manufacturing network.

The Daikin Manufacturing Poland Sp. z o.o. site is located in Ksawerów, near Łódź, and will produce residential heat pump heating systems for the European market. It is Daikin’s first factory in Poland and forms part of the company’s strategy to manufacture closer to key regional markets.

New European production capacity

The Polish factory becomes a major part of Daikin’s European production base for heat pumps. Local manufacturing is expected to help the company respond more quickly to customer demand and support a more stable supply of heating products across the region.

Masanori Togawa, Representative Director, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Daikin Industries, said: “This facility marks an important milestone for our global operations and reflects our long-standing philosophy of producing close to the market. By strengthening our manufacturing presence in Europe, we can respond more quickly to local needs and build long-term partnerships across the region.”

Poland selected for strategic location

Poland was chosen because of its skilled workforce, industrial base and access to major European markets. The Łódź region also has an established manufacturing sector, which made it suitable for long-term development.

Yasuto Hiraoka, Managing Director of Daikin Manufacturing Poland, said: “Poland offers the capabilities and environment we need for long-term growth. Together with our partners and the local community, we aim to contribute to the sustainable development of this region while building a strong and trusted production base.”

Supporting heat pump deployment

The plant will support increased European production of residential heat pumps as the region continues to move away from fossil-fuel heating. The site will also work with Daikin’s R&D centre for heat-pump and refrigeration technology in Ghent, Belgium, to support the transfer of technologies into large-scale production.

Masatsugu Minaka, Chairman of Daikin Europe N.V., said: “This factory carries importance not only for Daikin, but also for Europe. Local manufacturing of heat pumps accelerates the region’s energy transition, strengthens supply chain resilience, and contributes to a more sustainable industrial base.”

Michał Jaros, Secretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, said the investment would support Poland’s manufacturing base, create high-quality jobs and contribute to skills and innovation in the region.
